Vancouver – Christmas Day 2008

Published by traveller at 1:57 am under Politics Edit This

The people in charge of the Vancouver Olympics in 2010 just might be hoping that it doesn’t snow during the Games. After three separate snowfalls in a week, the city isn’t doing very well. Even on Christmas Day when no new snow fell and with not many commuters around, there were delays on The Skytrain because of an electrical fault in the downtown area. Lots of side streets in Vancouver have not been ploughed and are difficult to drive along. Footpaths are icy and street corners are awash – one false step and you are in water up to your calf. There are still delays at the airport and one woman has been trying to get to Calgary for four days.
